ANDRIS EGLĪTIS
WONDER TRAIN

Madona Railway Station

The paintings were made on the morning of the festival on the train "Wonder train" from Riga to Madona, where Eglītis painted the festival passengers with oil paints on canvas.

"Painting is a journey—one where neither the destination nor the path is fully known. At most, it can be sensed or hoped for. What matters is staying alert to what unfolds and trusting that the way forward reveals itself. It is this encounter with the unknown and the unexpected that makes painting so absorbing—drawing us in and pushing us to chase the wonder it holds."
